Indonesian known as its rich food
because Indonesia
have so many tribes. Every tribes has its own traditional food. In middle Java,
most of the food taste sweet. While in the west and east of Indonesia like Sumatra
and Nusa Tenggara the food most likely to be spicy and hot. At this opportunity
I will describe you some of the foods that you must try.
1. Pempek
Pempek is from South
Sumatra. It made from sago and mackerel fish mix together and some
of the pempek has eggs inside it which is called ‘Kapal Selam’ and some of
pempek has an oval shape which is called ‘Lenjer’ or in a circle shape called
‘Ada’an’. All the shape being boiled first before they all fried. After being
fried, it is ready to be served. You have to eat it with ‘Cuka Pempek’ which is
made by acid fruits, brown sugar, chili and garlic. The Cuka taste is very hot
and spicy. And that is the delicious of this food. Some of tem who had taste it
want to try more and more.
2. Rendang
Rendang is from West
Sumatra. It made from meat, extract coconut, chili and other
seasoning. Usually many household make this food at the holy day like Lebaran.
But you can buy it everywhere now in the ‘Padang Restaurant’. This is one of
the heritage food of Indonesia.
The delicious food of Rendang had been confessed by other country that this
food is the most delicious food in the world. Rendang also have a long expired
because they cook it in a quiet long time. So you can pack it with empty pack
and bring it to your homeland.
3. Tapai Ketan Hitam Manis
Tapai or Tape is from Betawi, Jakarta. It is made from
black and white sticky rice which is cooked and pour with fermentation agent.
It keeps in an empty pack for three days in room temperature and three days or
more in the freezer then ‘Tapai’ is ready to be served. This food usually
cooked in a special day like wedding ceremony or in a holy day. The taste of
Tape is so sweet, but you can’t eat it in a big amount because you will feel
hot and drunk because the fermentation process result some alcohol. Tape used
to match with Uli which made from scramble white sticky rice.
